The used-machinery trade is international — visibility often is not
The trade in used industrial assets — construction equipment, agricultural machinery, forklifts, commercial vehicles — has long been an international business. Buyers search across borders, dealers hold stock they want to place beyond their region. Yet visibility remains fragmented: supply and demand don't always find each other efficiently.
The challenge we see: fragmented sales and sourcing channels
In our daily work with dealers selling used industrial assets, we observe that many operate across multiple channels — their own listings, auction platforms, marketplaces, direct contacts. Buyers, in turn, search across platforms, comparisons and networks. From our perspective, dispersion arises between the two: stock can sit longer than necessary, buyers may not find the right offer, and market attention spreads across many small touchpoints rather than a focused channel. This is our observation, not a representative market study.
Our idea: FurtherSales Network as a new, additional sales channel
FurtherSales Network is a new, additional sales channel currently in development. The goal is to extend the reach of used machinery beyond a dealer's own white-label auction platform — complementing the dealer's own platform, not replacing it.
Relevance over budget: our product philosophy
Relevance over budget is a guiding principle in how we are building FurtherSales Network. Our aim is to grow reach organically — through relevant placement, clear categorization and professional presentation of stock. We are developing Network with this philosophy in mind; it is not yet a fully productive ranking system, and we are transparent about where development stands today.
Network is not Auctions: the clear distinction
Many conflate FurtherSales Network with our auction platform. So here's the clear separation:
FurtherSales Auctions — Own white-label auction channel under the dealer's brand, website/domain and customer relationships.
FurtherSales Network — Additional discovery and international reach layer for relevant used-machinery inventory.
FurtherSales Auctions is the white-label auction platform dealers operate under their own brand — with their own branding, their own domain, their own auction rules. FurtherSales Network is a complementary layer that extends the reach of those auctions — additional visibility, not a replacement for the dealer's own platform.
What we're building: first look
FurtherSales Network is in active development. We are building it as a structured discovery layer for the international used-machinery market. The concept includes:
- •Professional dealer profiles
- •Structured machinery inventory and categories
- •International discoverability of relevant stock
- •Search for relevant machinery
- •Qualified inquiries directed to dealers
These elements reflect the current Network concept. We start focused, validate reach and quality, then expand step by step. Nothing described here is presented as already live — development is ongoing.
Machinery categories: examples
The initial focus is on the categories where we already work with dealers:
- •Construction equipment and machinery
- •Agricultural machinery and tractors
- •Forklifts and industrial trucks
- •Commercial vehicles and trailers
- •Aerial work platforms and lifts
These categories cover a large share of the international used-machinery trade and offer clear volume potential.
Development status: in development
FurtherSales Network is currently in development. We'll share the next status, first results and next steps here on the blog regularly. Anyone who wants to help shape it or test early is welcome to reach out to us directly.
Two channels, one objective
With FurtherSales Auctions, we are building the infrastructure for companies to operate their own digital auction channel. With FurtherSales Network, we are exploring how relevant inventory can gain additional international visibility beyond that channel.
The two products serve different purposes — but both follow the same principle: giving sellers more control over how their used assets reach the market.
Outlook: more updates to follow
This article is the starting point. Over the coming weeks we'll publish further insights — on reach, on categories, on first pilots and on the continued development of FurtherSales Network.
